Making a difference

Hey all! Today, I want to make/send/share my own version of a public service announcement, because sometimes things are that important.

You may or may not have heard, but there is a BIG election happening this year. In a few short weeks, actually! And while we are reminded every year how important it is to vote, a sadly small number of eligible voters actually vote because they believe their vote doesn’t count.

I want to remind you again- Every. Vote. Counts. YOUR vote counts.

No matter your party or affiliation or candidate, it is more important than ever that you vote this year. Especially after the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was a champion of women’s rights and an icon for justice. Her empty seat means that there are a lot of potential decisions that we take for granted can now be up for re- negotiation, legally. As a woman and as a human being, I feel RBG had the kind of quiet dignity that can sometimes make people forget about her backbone of steel in fighting for what she felt was right. We all could use a little of that ourselves right about now.

So many things are at stake right now, and I add my voice to the many urging you to VOTE. Make your voice heard. Make your number count. No matter who you vote for, no matter what your preferences are. And I urge you to vote with your own conscience and following your own heart, not blindly following a party affiliation or what your friends or family are doing. Take an honest look at how you feel about the state of our country and the direction you want it to go.

You can check your registration and register at so many online sites without leaving home. Here are two sites of many you can use :

http://www.vote.org

Vote in person. Vote early. Vote by mail in ballot.

Vote. Our country depends on it.
